Maxim's Cake Shop - HK

One of the best touristy things to do in Hong Kong is to take the Star ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui. Not only do you get some amazing shots of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, it's also much cheaper to cross the harbour this way ($3 HKD) compared to the double decker bus or MTR system. It takes a bit longer, but it's worth it.

Everywhere you looked, it felt like there was a Maxim's Cake Shop. They're spread out all across Hong Kong and after checking out their cakes 2 days in a row, I decided to finally splurge on a few slices to try it.

Right to Left: Chestnut mousse, Mango mousse and Chocolate mousse cake
The cakes were all light and fluffy with nice flavours and they weren't too sweet.
I thought the chestnut was okay (although I'm not a fan of chestnut) and the mango mousse was really nice.
The chocolate was a little normal (nothing exceptional).

The Supreme Butter Loaf
OMG - This bread is AMAZING! It's so delicious and sweet with a rich, yet light buttery taste.
It was also super soft and reasonably priced. I'd import this bread to Canada if I could. Yum!

Overall: Maxim's Cake Shop is a fantastic Chinese bakery - you have to try their supreme butter loaf if you love buttery bread.
