King Ping Tea Restaurant - Taipei

One of the chefs from the original Din Tai Fung in Taiwan opened his own restaurant called King Ping Tea Restaurant to also serve xiaolongbao and other delicious Taiwanese dishes.

Instead of ordering separate dishes, the tour company pre-ordered enough set dishes to serve each table of 10.
Some dumplings: steamed shrimp and pork dumpling, purple glutinous rice shao mai and steamed vegetable dumpling
I like the dumpling wrappers, but these dumplings weren't that good.

The famous Xiaolongbao: steamed pork dumpling
This xiaolongbao was really delicious! You could pick it up from the stem and it was thinly wrapped with a lot of soup inside the dumpling which added great flavour. Yum!

Fried rice with egg and shrimp
A little on the mushy side for a fried rice and the ginger flavour was pretty overpowering.

Spicy and sour soup and stir fried pea shoots
The soup was pretty good! Really nice and thick with a hint of spiciness.

Overall: Decent meal at King Ping Tea Restaurant - the highlight was definitely the delicious xiaolongbao!
